As you have likely seen in a letter from the Cardinal, an article in the Boston Pilot, or an article in the Boston Globe, the Cardinal has decided to lower the normal age of reception of the sacrament of Confirmation in the Archdiocese of Boston from around the age of 16, or 10th or 11th grade, to around the ages of 13-14, or 8th grade. The text of the official decree implementing the change is forthcoming.
Our team is hosting listening sessions for pastors and faith formation leaders to get initial thoughts and questions about implementing this change in your parishes.
